Tayo and Dolu’s destination wedding in Croatia through the Split Wedding Photographer’s camera
Today we are bringing you a love story of two lovebirds – Tayo and Dolu, a gorgeous and handsome Nigerian couple who fell in love in Croatia and decided to get married in Split. Before the wedding, Tayo and Dolu had to make some important wedding decisions, like which destination to choose; from Italy, through Spain, to Croatia, each destination had something beautiful and unique. However, the decision fell on Croatia. The hardest part was deciding between Dubrovnik wedding or Split wedding. Imagining all her friends – future bridesmaids walking through Splitska Riva (the center of Split), driving with a boat towards the super popular Island of Hvar, drinking delicious domestic wines, enjoying the sun in Croatia, eating natural food…Tayo and Dolu finally opted for a destination wedding in Split, Croatia. You can see a photo story from their destination wedding in Split here.
If we depart from Split by boat, we will soon run across paradise on Earth – beautiful islands like Šolta, Brač, Hvar, and Vis. Like jewels, thrown across the sea, these islands simply attract people from all over the world to see them, feel them, and possibly wish for Dalmatia Island weddings. The beauty of the Dalmatian islands did not leave our newlyweds indifferent. They chose Hvar as a destination to spend there the day before the wedding with their friends. Tayo & Dolu’s prewedding party was hosted by the Hula Hula Beach Club.
Pre-wedding party venues in Split
Hula Hula Hvar is a very popular beach club in Hvar, which will bring you lifetime memories with its stunning sunset views. Finding an adequate place for their welcome dinner, two days before the wedding, also was one of their wedding tasks; however, Split has a large number of wedding venues, so everyone can find something that will be suitable for the event they envisioned. So, Tayo and Dolu decided to enjoy the sunset while sailing with their friends towards Brown Beach House Croatia, located in Trogir, a small town near Split. Brown Beach House Croatia is a recently opened accommodation facility, located in Trogir, a small historic town that is a part of UNESCO’s World Heritage. The accommodation has 25 rooms and one suite, inspired by Mediterranean ambience and contemporary design tendencies. It is a beautiful and modernly designed hotel where you can organize weddings, although we had the opportunity to film a hilarious and unforgettable wedding there, you can see here – Brown Beach House Trogir wedding.
Getting married in Split – Mestrovic Gallery wedding
As we said before, they have chosen Split Venue Ivan Meštrović Galery for their most important day. The history of Split starts with the Roman Emperor Diocletian, who decided to build his Palace near the Roman city of Salona because he wanted to spend the last years of his life. Eventually, this Palace was converted into a city, endowed with rich tradition and history, and its beautiful nature and cultural heritage. Thanks to its historical importance and its vividness, Split has been listed as a part of UNESCO’s World Heritage. You still have the opportunity to see all historical layers, starting from the Old Rome, through the Middle Ages, till today. If you decide to take a walk through its historical core, you will see some of the greatest examples of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture, combined with modern architectural trends and designs. The everyday life of Split is portrayed by local inhabitants, authentic restaurants, cafes and shops, and the constant arrival of tourists who are quickly becoming a part of this beautiful city and its magic.
Nigerian destination wedding Split
The Nigerian wedding in Split turned out to be pretty hilarious. Since early morning hours, attractive and beautiful bridesmaids were taking care of Tayo, by making her feel like a queen on her wedding day. The newlywed’s parents proudly wore their traditional Nigerian costumes, characterized by interesting cuts, vibrant colors and very interesting hats, while the newlyweds and their friend opted for a “western look”. It would be quite interesting to mention that many African nations have their typical national costumes decorated with painting, scarring, tattooing, or jewelry.
Tayo’s wedding dress
Every girl dreams of looking fabulous on her wedding day, by paying special attention to her look, just like Tayo. She gave her gown a magic touch of royalty, by extending it with a long, beautiful train, which was dragging on as she was entering the Franciscan Church and Monastery of St. Anthony in Split.
An outdoor wedding in Split
Although the rain clouds threatened to ruin the wedding ceremony, Tayo & Dol did not want to give up their Split outdoor wedding venue – Ivan Meštrović Gallery. The rain on the wedding day lasted only a couple of hours, so we could say that it brought them energy to dance until morning. The rest of the day, they were enjoying the beautiful green surroundings and the beauty of one of the most popular wedding venues in Split – Gallery Meštrović wedding venue in Split. Ivan Meštrović Gallery is the most beautiful gallery and one of the best cultural locations in Split. It has a spacious green garden perfect for receptions, cocktail parties, and wedding ceremonies. If you would like to have a fairy tale wedding, surrounded by colorful Mediterranean trees and flowers, astonishing sea view and carefully organized lounge areas, you should probably take a closer look at this gallery. Ivan Meštrović Gallery (Croatian: Galerija Meštrović) is an art museum located in Split, dedicated to one of the most famous Croatian sculptors, Ivan Meštrović. The gallery contains his most significant works of sculpture, drawings, furniture and architecture designs, etc. The gallery contains separate living and working areas with exhibition spaces. It was constructed according to the architectural scheme made by Meštrović himself.
Split is one of the sunniest Croatian cities. Whenever we filmed a wedding ceremony in Split, the weather was beautiful. The climate and the sea are the main reasons why we like to make Split wedding films, and as there are a lot of honeymooners who visit the Dalmatian islands, we often have the opportunity to make do Hvar prewedding movie shooting, which is even more challenging because the shootings from Hvar also complement this Dalmatian, Mediterranean story.
