The greatest gift God has entrusted me…
On this day, one year ago, I said yes. I got married to Stefan, the most beautiful soul I have encountered – and the greatest gift God has entrusted me. As you can imagine, our wedding day was the happiest day in my life.

Emotional moment during photosession in Swiss Woods.
Yet I hated planning our wedding. This may sound harsh – but sometimes all of this wedding stuff really made me want to vomit. This is not because I had to do it all by myself (Stefan was such a great help), nor because I hate sparkly and glittery things (I actually love them), nor because I felt stressed (I really did not). It is because in a pinterest-obsessed world it seems like everyone is competing to have the most creative wedding decoration, the most beautiful wedding dress, the most amazing hairstyle and the best wedding since the beginning of time.

Truth be told: My heart cared so much less about the wedding of our dreams – but really cared about a marriage of my dreams. So in my mind it was silly to spend more time planning our one-day-wedding-event – that would come and go – than planning for a marriage that would last a lifetime
It was never our goal, that our wedding had to be so perfect it would later show up in a wedding magazine. Neighter was it our goal that everyone would talk months later about our wedding day. I really didn’t care about all of that. I want to be honest. Of course I wanted a beautiful wedding dress – one that would show, that you don’t have to look sexy to be a stunning bride. It only took me trying on wedding dresses til kingdom come – but I found my dream come true designed by Eddy K Bridal. Of course I wanted a nice location where we could enjoy good foods and where we could dance a lot. We found our location in Chur, a city in the midst of the swiss alps. And of course I wanted it all to be nicely decorated – in my case with lavender and sprigs from olive trees. But most important for us was to have a beautiful and holy Mass. And we wanted God to be present throughout the day.

So we prepared ourselves. For our whole engagement, Stefan and I would pray together and read the bible as often as we could. We would go to Mass and to Adoration. We would pray the rosary and attend a weekly bible study. Our priest would teach us the theology of the body and the true meaning of marriage. So when the day of our wedding finally came I was overwhelmed with peace and joy. I knew that I was going to marry the man who is willing to run the race to Heaven by my side.

Finally our wedding day came – and in the end it was the wedding of our dreams. Captured by the amazing people from DT Studio. It is solely thanks to them, that Stefan and I still stand in awe when we look at our wedding pictures and the video. Not only that Diana and Tomislav – who are by the way two amazing people and such a funny couple – did an amazing job on this particular day. Also they really took the time to get to know us as a couple – months before the wedding.
Diana spent hours talking to me on the phone, just to make sure she really understood what it was all about for me and for Stefan. She took the time to answer every single question I had – and there were many! And she and her husband even took the time to get to know the city where we were getting married. They walked a whole day through the streets of Chur just to find the best spots for the pictures! This really overwhelmed me. On our wedding day they did an amazing job – just as we assumed they would. And even the day after the wedding – the four of us went up to the mountains to take some different shots – they spent more time with us than they had to. This all shows how unbelievably passionate they are about what they do – and it surely reflects in their videos and pictures. We are so grateful for everything they did – and we would choose them over and over again.

What is there left to say? As for me and for Stefan, we are now living the happily ever after … raising our two month old son Niko, dancing in between his cries, laughing often, fighting occasionally, and loving God and life.
